Programme features

The timetable of the meeting was planned to provide enough time for scientific presentations and discussions with experts in the different fields of sphingolipid research. It also provides different slots where young researchers can present their work, either as panel communications or talks selected from the submitted abstracts/poster presentations. In addition, we provide time for informal scientific discussions and networking, where early career stage researchers can meet the experts in round table discussions and social activities.
The scientific programme of the SLBiol2023 consists on Keynote Lectures, Invited Lectures, Short Talks, Poster Sessions, Round Table discussions and Flash Presentations

Keynote Lectures

Three keynote speakers will deliver the Keynote Lectures. These consist on 1h sessions with discussion included.

Invited Lectures

Invited speakers will deliver a 25 min talk + 5 min discussion. The lectures are organized into 6 different scientific sessions, which will be introduced by the chair of the session in a 10 min talk. Each session ends with a 10 min overall discussion of the topics raised during the session, to address unanswered questions, and to discuss future directions.

Selected Short Talks

Short talks will be selected from submitted abstracts. These will consist on 10 min talk + 5 min discussion and will be delivered in each of the 6 scientific sessions.

Meet the experts & Round Table Discussions

Round tables will be organized where recognized scientists will be available for informal scientific discussions on their field of expertise

Posters

Posters will be displayed throughout the meeting to provide enough time for discussion. In addition, three dedicated sessions of 2 hours each are planned for poster discussions. All posters presented by students/postdocs as first authors will be subject to evaluation and can be selected for Flash Talks Presentations.

Flash Presentations

Posters presented by students and postdocs will be evaluated by a committee during the poster sessions, and the best posters will be selected for a flash talk of 3 min.
